That afternoon the hunters and I had found some pig droppings. Jack thought it would be a good idea if we went pig hunting while we were looking for the beast. Ralph tagged along for the hunt. After a while we tracked down a boar.
“That looks like fun tot kill” Jack said
“Yup. Sure does” I said.
“Looks delicious” said Robert.
“GO!” Jack said.
Spears were flinging toward the creature.
“I got him!” said Ralph.
“Through here he is running away!”
The pig was trying to find its covert so it could be safe.
“Get’em!”
“I did! My spear hit him in the snout and it stuck in a bit” Ralph said.
Every one kept running. We came to some rocks at the edge of the sea.
“Darn! He’s gone!” said Jack.
“I got him! I did! Did ya see?!” Ralph said excitedly.
“I did” said Maurice as he nodded.
“Well why you didn’t grab him!” Jack said infuriated.
“Well…” Ralph said sagely.
“Do you see this?” Jack said.
He held up his arm and he showed off a gash on his arm.
“The pig did this to me with his tusks” he said.
“Well I hit him!” Ralph said.
“Still look at my arm” Jack said.
Ralph felt bad. I could tell.
“I threw my spear like this!” Robert said mockingly. He was trying to get to Ralph. All of the boys began to laugh. At the moment we were poking Robert with our spears. He was acting like the pig. Making the noises and acting like a pig.
“Make a ring” Jack said.
We all gathered around Robert. We poked him with our stick. At first he sounded like he was playing but after a few seconds he began to sound serious.
“Stop your hurting me! Stop it!” he screamed. He began to snivel a bit.
Someone hit him with the butt of the spear in his back and he blundered around in the middle.
“Hold him down!”
They got his arms and legs. Ralph grabbed Eric’s spear and began to poke at Robert.
“KILL HIM! KILL HIM!”
Jack had him by the hair. He also had his knife out. Everyone was trying to get closer. We became a mob. We were all caught up in the hunt so we turned on one of our hunters. Jack put his hand down. We were all making pig dying noises. Then we went quiet. We listen to him snivel.
“That was a fun game” Jack said.
“Yeah a game” Ralph said.
I thought to myself, next time we play this game we ought to use a littlelun. One by on we stood up.
“Well let’s go up to look for the beast then”
“Shouldn’t we go back to Piggy?” said Maurice.
“Yah we should. We can go up there in the morning” the twins said.
Everyone debated. It seemed like an infinite amount of voices to me. I couldn’t tell who was talking. It was getting a bit darker. We decided to go. We began to walk to the mountain. I don’t really like Ralph. He’s a good leader in a way. But I think jack would make a better one.
